Rykarda Parasol is both band and solo artist. Hailing from San Francisco and for a time was based in Paris, France/Warsaw, Poland. Ms. Parasol’s music hinges on a heady mélange of psych rock, folk, pop, and murder ballad – drawing a wide arrange of comparisons from the Velvet Underground, Lana Del Rey, and Nick Cave, accentuated with her gin-tinged voice and layered harmonies is uniquely her own and notable storytelling.

Her current Slive band consists of long-time collaborators also known for their respective projects; Guitarist: Roger Rocha (Four Non-Blondes), Bassist: Mark Pistel (Meat Beat Manifesto, Consolidated), Keys: Michael Shaw (An Intimate Evening with Michael Shaw) and Drums: Danny Luehring known (San Geronimo). In 2023, Parasol released her fifth album, “Tuesday Morning”, on Luxembourg-based Oskar Ludvig Records recorded in San Francsico with Mark Pistel and features other local musicians like Marc Capelle. Parasol continues to release singles and collaborations, most recently with Izzy Chavarin’s project “Everything but Everything” as we ll as other upcoming collabs set for release in 2026.

For several years, Parasol was based in Paris France and continues to collaborate with composers and DJs there, such as Marc Ottavi (featured on her most recent album, Tuesday Morning.). Additionally, she signed with sync agent, Cézame for film and television placement. While signed to Warner (PL) and Glitterhouse (DE), she released several albums and toured throughout Europe. From Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, SXSW, WAVES, Parasol has performed on various stages and opening for artists such as Frank Black and Broken Social scene. Back in San Francisco since 2019, her band most recently her band has performed at Kilowatt, Makeoutroom, and Eli’s Mile High Club.

A few more tidbits: Born and raised in and around San Francisco, along the way, Ms. Parasol has also lived in Los Angeles, Austin-Texas, and more recently, Paris-France. While she likes to be on-the-go, the headlands outside San Franc are her home. She is also notable for her album artwork and illustrations, DIY spirit, and creating memorable visual impressions.

In April 2023, Parasol also released a remix by Mark Pistel via Emergency Hearts Records of “Valborg’s Eve” and signed with Cézame Sync Agency, Paris, France. Writing and recording for other remixes and releases are already underway for 2024 and 2025.
